FootyNumbers.com is an engaging and interactive game designed for AFL fans who love a challenge. The game tests your knowledge of AFL players by presenting you with a team logo and jumper number, and you have to guess the player’s name. It’s a great way to test and improve your knowledge of the game and its players.

How to Play

The gameplay is simple but challenging:

• Click "Generate New Player" to start the game.
• After a brief shuffle, a random player's team logo and jumper number will appear.
• You have 30 seconds to guess the player by typing their name in the input box.
• If you guess correctly, your streak will increase, and you can generate a new player.
• If you guess incorrectly or time runs out, you will see the correct answer, and your streak will reset.
• Click "Give Up" if you don’t know the answer. This will show the correct answer and reset your streak.

Game Modes

We offer two versions of the game, each with its own set of difficulty levels:

Current Players Version includes the following difficulty levels:

• Easy: Answers filtered to players that are answered correctly over 80% of the time.
• Medium: Answers filtered to players that are answered correctly over 50% of the time.
• Hard: All current players who have played at least one season game.
• Expert: All current players.
• Team Filter: This mode is automatically activated when you select a specific team. It only shows players who have only played for that particular club.

Historic Version includes the following difficulty levels:

• Easy: At least possible answer of a player who wore the jumper number in recent years (2015 and onwards) and played at least 200 games.
• Medium: At least possible answer of a player from the 2000s onwards with at least 150 games.
• Hard: At least possible answer of a player from 1985 onwards with at least 100 games.
• Expert: All past players, regardless of the number of games played or the era.
• Team Filter: This mode is automatically activated when you select a specific team. It only shows players who have only played for that particular club.

The Historic Version features players who have played at least one game in their jumper numbers throughout AFL history. This adds an element of nostalgia and challenge, as you may need to recall players from different eras. The Current Players Version, on the other hand, includes listed players who may not have played a game yet, focusing on the present roster of players.
